Most people dislike bugs splattered on the front of their vehicle but did you know that they can cause permanent damage if not removed? Bug guts on your vehicle become acidic. Add heat and rain to the mix and the bug splatter will slowly start to eat away at your clear coat. If you have ever had a bug spot on your vehicle that wouldn’t come off, no matter how hard you scrubbed, you may have seen this.

The damage will often look like a splattered bug but remains even after the bug has been washed away. This black hood is a good example.
